Where to eat in Chengdu according to the 2026 Michelin Guide
The Michelin Guide Chengdu 2026 was unveiled on September 1. The fifth edition of the guide features 76 restaurants across three tiers: 13 Michelin-starred restaurants, 27 Bib Gourmand establishments and 36 Michelin-selected restaurants.

Seventy-six restaurants and a city still evolving
Chengdu has the kind of food reputation that precedes it—numbing peppercorns, bubbling hot pot, noodle shops tucked down every other lane. If you're visiting and wondering which of those thousands of places deserves a dedicated evening, the Michelin Guide offers one useful filter.
The Michelin Guide Chengdu 2026 was unveiled on September 1. The fifth edition of the guide features 76 restaurants across three tiers: 13 Michelin-starred restaurants, 27 Bib Gourmand establishments and 36 Michelin-selected restaurants.
Three tiers, three kinds of evening
Michelin-selected restaurants: The broadest category, with five restaurants entering for the first time. These are places the inspectors consider worth a visit without awarding a star or Bib Gourmand designation.
A young team earns its star
Restaurant Co-, operated by a young culinary team, was the only restaurant promoted to one Michelin star in the fifth edition of the guide. Michelin's international director Gwendal Poullennec observed that young talent, innovation and increasingly diverse dining options are bringing new vitality to Chengdu's culinary scene.
The guide also honored three young industry professionals with its Young Chef, Sommelier and Service awards, underscoring the growing role of a new generation in shaping the city's dining landscape.
What modern Sichuan cuisine sounds like at two stars
At the top of the guide, Xin Rong Ji and Yu Zhi Lan both retained their two Michelin stars. Among the one-star holders, Silver Pot stands out for the way it talks about its own cooking: the restaurant describes the recognition as part of its continuing effort to answer the question of what modern Sichuan cuisine can be.
Silver Pot says it remains committed to reimagining the foundations and spirit of Sichuan flavors through an international perspective on ingredients, using techniques of deconstruction and reconstruction to give familiar elements—the numbing sensation of Sichuan peppercorns, the aromas of fermentation—new expressions.
Other one-star Sichuan restaurants on the list include Chaimen Hui, Fang Xiang Jing, Fu Rong Huang, Ma's Kitchen and Xu's Cuisine, alongside restaurants specializing in Fujian cuisine, vegetarian dining and contemporary European cuisine.
A Green Star for the vegetarian table
Mi Xun Teahouse retained its Michelin Green Star for its commitment to sustainability. Built around a farm-to-table philosophy, the vegetarian restaurant uses seasonal ingredients while supporting local wineries, tea producers and agricultural communities.
Before you book a table
Consider checking each restaurant's own channels for current availability, language support and any booking conditions before you go—especially for the two-star venues and newly starred Restaurant Co-.
