The 2026 Rolex Shanghai Masters runs from 5–18 October at Qizhong Tennis Center in Shanghai's Minhang district. Qualifying is on 5–6 October; the singles main draw begins on 7 October. An entry list is not a promise that every listed player will appear, nor does it tell you which session a player will play. Withdrawals, the draw and results can change what you get to see. If your trip revolves around one player, keep that uncertainty in your booking decisions.
Which dates should you choose?
The distinction between the full event dates and the main draw matters:

Where should international visitors buy tickets?
Use the official tournament ticket page, which links to an English-language ticket shop. Starting from the tournament website helps distinguish an authorised outlet from an unrelated seller.
Before paying, check these details on the specific ticket listing:
- The date, session and court access included.
- Whether the ticket is for a reserved seat, and which seat category you selected.
- The accepted identity-document type and how your name must be entered.
- The entry or ticket-collection procedure and any required documents.
- The cancellation, refund and schedule-change terms.
An English storefront alone does not establish that every foreign card or passport booking will work. Where is Qizhong Tennis Center?
The tournament is in Minhang, not beside Shanghai's central sightseeing stops. Save the venue name and street address before setting out:

The address is listed in the organiser's FAQ. Follow your ticket and current event instructions for the correct entrance; a venue address is not the same thing as your assigned gate or ride-hailing pickup point.
Our recommendation is to treat your visit as a dedicated part of the day. Leave room for the journey, finding your entrance and entry checks rather than squeezing a session between two tightly timed activities.
Can you take the metro or a shuttle?
The organiser's transport page says the metro does not go directly to the tennis centre. Crucially, at our September check, the shuttle timetable on that page was explicitly labelled 2024 information for reference, not a confirmed 2026 timetable. Before your match day, recheck the organiser's current transport announcement and map your journey from your actual accommodation. If you plan to use public transport on the way back, check the last usable connections too.
For an evening session, have a backup return plan. Tennis does not offer a reliably fixed finishing time, so a tightly booked train, flight or dinner afterwards is an avoidable source of stress. Check current taxi or ride-hailing pickup instructions before leaving the venue.

- Check the latest bag, food, drink and prohibited-item rules rather than assuming another event's policy applies.
- Check the weather, charge your phone and leave yourself a travel buffer.
- Decide how you will return before the first point is played.
Can one ticket guarantee a Sinner, Alcaraz or Zverev match?
Do not assume so. A player's appearance on the entry list does not assign them to your session. Check the order of play for your date and the precise access your ticket provides, while allowing for later schedule changes.
What should you plan first: sightseeing or tennis?
If tennis is the reason for your visit, make the ticketed session your fixed commitment and keep sightseeing around it flexible. If tennis is an addition to an existing Shanghai trip, choose a session you can enjoy without rushing to or from another booking.
